I absolutely loved this book about Chris, who was abused by his father and brothers, but found the courage to escape his home environment, and also rescue a beautiful young horse from slaughter. This book was written with compassion and understanding of the damage caused to this young boy as a result of living with an aggressive, uncompromising and violent father and siblings, and a mother who did not have the strength and courage to protect him.

A Great Read!

This is an extremely well written novel. The author has used her extensive knowledge of horses to tell the story of a relationship between a horse and a human. Chris has a tough life before his adventures. Great friends who support him, and many more. I am eagerly awaiting a prequel or sequel to this tale.
